A bedtime story must-read
My twin 5-year-olds beg to have this book read again and again nightly. Wonderfully illustrated with charming watercolors and cleverly written, this book captures the essence of a fight between two best friends escalating way out of proportion. A sweet lesson, demonstrated by two friendly monsters.

Three Complete Novels: The Cat Who Moved a Mountain, the Cat Who Blew the Whistle, the Cat Who Said Cheese
Published in Hardcover by Putnam Pub Group (April, 1998)
Author: Lilian Jackson Braun
Average review score:

A Great Introduction to the Qwilleran series
These three stories offer a terrific introduction for any first time reader of the crime solving exploits of Jim Qwilleran, philanthropic billionare, and his Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum. "Mountain" is the more serious of the three. It contrasts the lives of the simple, genuine mountain folk with the newcomers despoiling the countryside.

Read and enjoy the charming stories this author can weave, with just that hint of social consciousness.

I'm just sorry that I've just about finished reading the whole series.

Three Complete Novels: The Cat Who Wasn't There, the Cat Who Went into the Closet, the Cat Who Came to Breakfast
Published in Hardcover by Putnam Pub Group (May, 1996)
Author: Lilian Jackson Braun

Mrs. Braun's books are something unexpected
The first time I read one of Mrs Braun's books with Koko and Yum Yum (to say nothing of the newsmand and owner, Qwilleran) I was in Florida, workin as Disney Cast Member. I have always been fond of animals, but these books made me feel very fond of siamese cats, and something that was very unusual, was the ability of this lady writer to "paint" vivid the character of a man written by a woman. All along during the reading of the first novel I thought the writer was a man. Only when I closed the cover I found out to be a lady. She is now one of my favourite writers.

R.A.F. Bomber Command, at it's best !!
"THREE STRIPES AND FOUR BROWNINGS" by Bill Jackson,CD

Young boys and girls, fresh from school, become men and women, overnight. Their lives are are changed forever as Britain enters WWII, but along with the fear and heartbreak that looms over any war, the human spirit rises above the horror.

The author of "Three Stripes and Four Brownings" cleverly recounts his own story as a rear gunner in the Royal Air Force, managing to blend compassion and humour into this true story.

The large print is a bonus for readers whos eyesight isn't what it used to be!

His second book, 'Lone Survivor' takes you deep into Germany and life as a P.O.W. - I've purchased both books as gifts for friends, but the Publishers advise me that the first editions are now nearly sold out, so if you find them, my advise is to grab them!

Two terrific books! A 'must' read for all WWII buffs!

Thy Maker Is Thy Husband

Stop Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places
This book was a very spiritual and powerful one. Being that I am a single black woman it just made me realize that I need to follow Gods words where it tells us to not become unevenly yoked. It also made me realize that no matter how bad I want to be married do not settle for anything but the best and the Best is a man that God sends you. He may not be fine or have a lot of money but if he is a God fearing man then more than likely he's a good man. I can't wait until her next book and may the woman in the book be a example that we all can learn from.

Tom Jackson's Power Letter Express
Published in Paperback by Diane Books Publishing Company (March, 1998)
Authors: Tom Jackson and Bill Buckingham
Average review score:

The Job Express Series
I bought all three books in the series while I was in college in 1994, around the year they were published. I loved them all. Cover letter express and Interview Express were the most useful, however. They are short, in a simple step-by-step format and get right to the point. There are examples of good and bad situations. I was checking online to see if they still made the companion software and was surprised to see that the books are out of print. They are only 6 and 7 years old. Worth looking for.
